Before you start

All you need is a TutorMigo account and a web browser — on a laptop, tablet or phone. Sign in, then select Tutor in the left-hand menu (on a phone it lives in the bottom bar).

Your grade comes from your profile, so the tutor automatically explains things at the right level. You can change it any time in Settings → Profile, or for a single session from the grade chip at the top of the screen.

Ask your first question

  1. Open the tutor lobby

The lobby is your starting point. You'll see a greeting, a Continue card for your last session, an Ask your tutor box, and rows for choosing a subject and a goal.

  2. Choose Math

Under Choose a subject, select Math. If you skip this step, the tutor still recognises math words like equation, fraction or algebra and picks Math for you.

  3. Type your question

Click the Ask your tutor box and type your question just as you'd say it to a teacher. Asking for step by step tells the tutor to slow down and explain each move.

    Try it“Help me solve 2x + 5 = 15 step by step”
  4. Press Start

Press Start. A new session opens — it appears at the top of the Sessions list on the left — and the tutor begins teaching straight away.

Work through it together

TutorMigo is a tutor, not an answer machine. Instead of printing the solution, it explains the idea behind the first step and asks you to try it. That's how you learn to solve the next problem on your own.

Solve 2x + 5 = 15Grades 6–8
  1. Start2x + 5 = 15We want x alone on one side.
  2. Undo + 52x + 5 − 5 = 15 − 5 → 2x = 10Subtract 5 from both sides to keep the equation balanced.
  3. Undo × 22x ÷ 2 = 10 ÷ 2 → x = 5Divide both sides by 2.
Answer: x = 5
Check: 2(5) + 5 = 10 + 5 = 15 ✓
  1. Read the tutor's first explanation

The tutor explains the goal — get x by itself — and asks what you'd do first. Math is shown in clean, textbook-style notation.

  2. Reply with your idea

Type your next step in the message box at the bottom and press Enter (or the send arrow). It's fine to be unsure — the tutor will tell you what's right, and gently fix anything that isn't.

Try it“I think we subtract 5 from both sides first, so 2x = 10?”
  3. Use the quick actions under each answer

Under the latest answer you'll see one-tap buttons such as Give me an example, Try different approach, Quiz me, Summarize this and Move on. Each one sends that request for you.

Come back to it later

Every session is saved in the Sessions list on the left. Click one to pick up exactly where you stopped — the tutor even remembers what you worked on last time and offers to continue.
